This Article first appeared in the May edition of South East Farmer Magazine.     At last now in the third week of April some warm weather appearing and we saw some grass growth and arable crops improving rapidly where established.  However it was a shock to see two inches of snow laying on the 4 April with lambs outside and no grass!   Arable crops some 3 – 4 weeks behind in Essex and surrounding counties and a real concern for harvest returns.   The cattle trade continued to strengthen throughout April with numbers still short of demand indeed numbers completely inadequate.   All cattle including the manufacturing sorts at record levels and in all honesty it is difficult to see where numbers will come…

Grahams Report – February 2013
