Stanfords as a livestock market are strong believers in Local meat being produced by local farmers, being killed by local abattoir’s and sold in your local butchers. A key part of this is the abattoir and as a country we are seeing the numbers dropping with more specialisation. Newcastle University in conjunction with the Princes Countryside Fund are currently conducting a survey to better understand farmers interactions with abattoir’s.
